The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) gives teens and young adults an active role informing Youth Services of Tulsa's programs.

Youth Services of Tulsa (YST) is a community based nonprofit in downtown Tulsa, with offices in Broken Arrow, Glenpool, and Owasso. YST serves youth ages 12-24 in four key areas: Runaway and Homeless Services, Counseling, Delinquency Prevention, and Youth Development.

The application process will begin anew in Spring 2022

Ideal Candidates for Youth Advisory Board are:

  • Between the ages of 15-22

  • Engaged, active, and present

  • Interested in developing leadership skills

  • Enjoys collaborative team environments

  • Eager to serve as an ambassador for YST

  • Passionate about helping runaway and homeless youth

  • Enthusiastic about strengthening youth voices through podcasting, peer connections, and community outreach.

Participants are expected to model YST's core values:

  • Compassionate: Foster a safe and welcoming environment built upon trust, respect, kindness, and honest communication.

  • Dedicated: Fearlessly support and empower people to find hope, opportunities, and solutions for a promising future.

  • Collaborative: Learn, grow, and thrive through partnerships, innovation, and the use of information.

  • Youth-Driven: Partner with youth and rely on their voice and insight to guide our work.

YAB candidates are expected to attend twice-monthly meetings on Thursday evenings and Sunday Afternoons. Additional meetings may be called periodically by YAB facilitators for special projects.
