Violence Interrupter

Cure Violence is a public health program that works to stop shootings and save lives. Violence Interrupters are trusted community members who help prevent violence before it happens. They build relationships, look for signs of conflict, and step in to calm things down. The Violence Interrupter helps youth and young adults make positive choices, avoid retaliation, and find support and services that can change their lives for the better. The goal of this job is to stop violence, promote peace, and strengthen the community. The best candidates are respected and trusted in their neighborhoods, have strong communication skills, and care deeply about helping others and creating a safer community.

Street Outreach Specialist

We are currently accepting applications for a Street Outreach Specialist to provide supportive services to young adults ages 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness.  The Specialist will work in our drop-in center, conduct outreach in the community, and collaborate with partner organizations.  This is a full-time position with scheduled hours Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is preferred. 

  • Case Management experience is preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth

  • Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license

Intake Specialist

Applications are being accepted for an Intake Specialist position.  This person will work directly with youth and young adults to help link them with community resources and services to successfully transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Conduct intakes with clients to collect necessary data to assure appropriate navigation for needed resources including between internal YST programs, outside community partners, and other housing options. Bachelor’s degree in Social Science field or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience is preferred; case management experience is preferred; 2 years’ experience working with youth/young adults is preferred.  Must have and maintain a valid OK state driver’s license.  Applications with resume will be accepted until the position is filled.  EOE.
