Eagle Scout swoops in with generous donation

Updated: Nov 11, 2021

Brett Peterson, a Boy Scout in Troop 10 and Junior at Broken Arrow High School, chose YST as the benefactor of his Eagle project. One of the final requirements of the highest rank, includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages. Brett donated 50 backpacks filled with personal care products, first aid kits, and house keeping items. "I chose this project because these resources might not be readily available to other youth," Brett Said. The majority of the donation was donated by scouts, parents, and other community members. These items will go a long way toward helping at risk youth in the Tulsa area.

Nice to see a young person putting real effort into helping others. Brett’s Eagle project — organising 50 backpacks with practical items for at-risk youth — is a solid example of community service that actually makes a difference on the ground.

It reminded me how important clear, practical resources are when people need support. In a completely different context, NHS staff in the UK often look for straightforward tools to understand their pay, leave and entitlements. Sites like https://nhspaycalculatorss.co.uk/ provide free calculators for take-home pay, annual leave, overtime and pensions that many staff find genuinely useful.

Good on Brett and Troop 10 for getting this done.

It’s great to see young people taking the initiative to give back and support their community in such a meaningful way. Speaking of small ways to enjoy some free time, I recently came across Subway Surfers and it’s a fun little game to relax with after reading inspiring stories like this. It’s simple, colorful, and a nice way to unwind for a few minutes.

I recently played Drive Mad unblocked during a break and was surprised by how addictive the progression feels. The challenge increases at a steady pace.
