Volunteer Opportunities

MENTORS What is mentoring? Mentoring is the caring, consistent friendship and guidance offered by an adult to a young person. Mentors provide emotional support, encouragement and friendship to young people to help them achieve their full potential, effectively solve problems and grow to be successful adults.
Who can be a mentor? Anyone over the age of 21 who wants to make a difference in the life of a young person!
Transitional Living Mentors will be expected to make a weekly contact with their mentee. Two contacts a month must be face-to-face. Mentees for this program are aged 17-22.
North Tulsa Mentors will be expected to make a minimum of two weekly contacts with their mentee. One of those contacts must be face-to-face. Mentees for this program are aged 12-18.
Mentoring Children of Prisoners Mentors will be expected to make a minimum of two weekly contacts with their mentee. One of those contacts must be face-to-face. Mentees for this program are aged 12-18 with incarcerated parents.
YouthBuild Mentors will be expected to make a weekly contact with their mentee. Two contacts a month must be face-to-face. Mentees for this program are aged 18-21.

GED PREP TEACHERS Looking for current / retired teachers to teach GED preparation classes to our clients. Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 6 pm - 8pm at Youth Services beginning in Spring 2010.
SAFE PLACE VOLUNTEERS
Become a trained volunteer to respond to youth in crisis, or help spread the word about Safe Place throughout the community. You must be 21 yrs of age, clean background check and attend session I & II of Safe Place Training. Interested in Safe Place training, contact the Safe Place Coordinator, 918.582.0061 or e-mail.
