Teen Dating Violence Prevention


What is Dating Violence?
The physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse of a partner (or ex-partner) for the purpose of gaining power and control over that person. Dating violence can include:
  • fear and intimidation
  • disrespect
  • possessiveness and control issues
  • jealousy
  • anger acted out
  • A continual pattern of abusive and/or violent behavior

    Youth Services in partnership with DVIS/Call Rape offers a teen dating violence prevention program called, “Love Shouldn’t Hurt!” to increase awareness and prevent dating violence by identifying the problem using prevention education that is directed toward youth, parents, educators and youth workers.
