Safe Place
Youth at risk or in crisis can get help quickly at Safe Place locations. Safe Place sites are located throughout the Tulsa-area, including metro-area QuikTrip stores, fire stations, and Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority (MTTA) buses.
How does Safe Place work? When a youth goes into a Safe Place and asks for help, an employee trained to respond to youth in crisis will call Youth Services of Tulsa (YST) to send a volunteer to assist with the youth's problems. The employee will provide a safe environment until the volunteer arrives. The volunteer then either will wait with the youth until a parent arrives, transport the youth to the YST shelter, or takes other appropriate action.

Where are Safe Places? The following locations in the Tulsa area are designated Safe Places: All Tulsa metro-area QuikTrip stores; fire stations in Tulsa, Bixby, Berryhill, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Keystone, Owasso, Sand Springs and Skiatook; police departments in Broken Arrow and Sand Springs; and all MTTA buses. Want to know if you're at a Safe Place - just look for the Safe Place sign. | Why project Safe Place? Safe Place offers accessible services to youth who need help immediately. The reasons youth seek out Safe Place are varied, but can include running away, conflicts at home, substance abuse, danger at home or danger in relationships with peers.
