Health Education and Prevention

Educational Programs for Youth are offered on:
  • HIV
  • healthy relationships,
  • birth control,
  • sexual health.
  • STD's

These programs operate under an Oklahoma State Health Department grant. We encourage abstinence, monogamy (being faithful) and condoms.

Classes can be arranged for groups of youth within the community and held at Youth Services or any alternative site.

Educational Programs for Parents offer current information about:

  • HIV/STD’s
  • Birth control
  • Current trends in sexual behavior of youth

The seminars also work on communication skills and issues regarding the sensitive topics and how to make discussions more effective.

Seminars can be arranged for community groups by calling Julie Trainum, Health Education and Prevention Coordinator at 918.382.4478.

Testing and Referral Services

YST’s Health Education and Prevention program provides personalized counseling and a risk assessment tool for youth to understand the risks involved in sexual activity.

Additionally the program assists parents and youth in making referrals for testing and services for youth regarding their sexual health. These referrals may include HIV testing, STD testing, annual exams and pregnancy testing.

For further information about scheduling classes, testing or referral services call Julie Trainum at 918.382.4478 or click here.
