Youth are referred for an assessment with a YST first offender counselor through the Juvenile Bureau of the District Court, and the Municipal Courts of Bixby, Broken Arrow and Owasso.
The counselor may refer youth to one or more of the following:
- Misdemeanant Alternative Program -teaches youth and their parents new skills to encourage positive behavior
- Tulsa Youth Court -youth can have their case heard before a jury of their peers
- Family Counseling
- Substance Abuse Counseling
- Community Service
- ROPES Course - adventure-based counseling
YST first offender counselors may also refer youth to other agencies and services, depending on their individual needs.
