CIC

The Tulsa Area Community Intervention Center (CIC) is a one-stop centralized intake, assessment and service referral system for juveniles who are arrested or picked up by law enforcement officers for delinquent and misdemeanor offenses in Tulsa County. The Tulsa Area CIC can hold juveniles up to 24 hours.
CIC Mission
  • Assist law enforcement officers by providing a 24-hour, 7 day a week, short term retaining facility for quick drop-off of juveniles so officers can return to their duties in the community.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for juveniles who have been picked up by law enforcement.
  • Reduce recidivism of juvenile offenders by delivering immediate consequences for delinquent behavior.
  • Detect and address the underlying causes of delinquent or problem behavior on the front end as a preventive measure.
  • Intervene before problems escalate by making family referrals to community services.
  • Create a more effective and efficient alliance between police, parents, juvenile justice and treatment providers.
History
  • The Tulsa Area CIC is the ninth CIC that has been established in the state of Oklahoma. Community Intervention Centers throughout the nation have proven to be a tremendous asset to local communities by reducing time law enforcement officers are engaged with youth, by providing assessments and referrals to families, and by tracking trends in juvenile crime.

  • Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
