An exciting opportunity for budding artists at any level - you don’t need any previous experience to be a part of the program; you only need desire to discover, readiness for adventure and openness to experimentation.

| Pottery - Wheel Throwing |
|
A studio in clay offered in partnership with 3rd Street Clayworks. You will will learn how to throw pots, glaze and fire. Pottery - Hand Building |
Come work with clay. Create functional hand built items as well as critters, masks and other fun stuff. | Claymation |
In this workshop, you will learn how to sculpt and film a clay animation short film. This will include viewing an assortment of claymation videos to begin getting inspired about the technique. Students will brainstorm for concept building, and by working in groups of three, learn how to storyboard and create the composition for a three-dimensional animated film. | Beadwork and Jewelry Making |

Haven't you always wanted to make art that you can wear? Come hang out away from the heat and make some cool beads. Learn how to macramé hemp, string beads, wire wrap, make your own beads and more! Screen Printing for Beginners |
|
Learn the art of fabric screen printing as taught by local designer Carla-Rose of Raspberry Grunt. You will create your own designs through hands-on instruction and projects using the mono-color, ink blocking stencil method. Burning a screen will also be explored. Each student will design his/her own screen with logos or images of their choice. Personalize anything fabric: t-shirts, apparel, bandannas, jackets, aprons, canvas bags, pillows, clothing—the possibilities are endless! A cool class for guys and gals! | Mixed Media |
A studio where more is often more, Mixed Media challenges you to think outside the canvas. Create art using diverse media such as paint, collage, found materials, print and paper-making, fabric and an endless variety of other resources in a single work. | Beginner Glassblowing |
Glassblowing is an art as intense as it is delicate. This hands-on beginner’s class takes you through the entire glass working process. We'll be introducing you to the tools, fundamental principles and practices of glass working before guiding you in the creation of your very own beautifully blown and shaped glass paperweights, flowers and vases. | Creative Photography |

Learn the basics of a 35mm SLR camera from a professional photographer. This class is focused on teaching you how to manually control the most important functions on the camera. Many other creative aspects of photography will be covered like composition, subject matter, filters and film choice. If the student already has access to a 35mm SLR camera we encourage you to bring your camera to each class. Youth Services has a limited number of 35mm SLR cameras and some students may be asked to share a camera. Darkroom and film developing techniques will not be covered in this class. | Drawing 101 |
Get ready to learn new skills and strengthen old ones by drawing a variety of subjects and objects. From figures to still life to crazy structures, students will hone their skills with pencils and ink. During the 12 weeks, students will work in both a classroom setting and at different interesting landmarks and locations around Tulsa. | Comic Book / Fantasy Art |
This studio is an introduction to the ideas and tools of the comic book art trade and how to use them. It will cover the basics of figure drawing, story boarding and page layout. You will work from well-known artists, but will also focus on individual projects and individual creativity. Everything you need to start getting your ideas out of your head, onto paper and into the public eye. | Drama Troupe |
An exciting and important opportunity for youth, the Youth Services’ Drama Troupe is a touring ensemble of youth who research, write and perform plays addressing youth-specific issues, exploring the ideas and topics that affect every teen. An ongoing program, the Drama Troupe is always accepting new members committed to the idea of writing and performance as a way to both freely express themselves, their concerns, and their opinions and to using this expression for positive development. | Improvisational Comedy |
Improvisational comedy is interactive theatre. Actors are put on the spot, scenes are created at the drop of a hat, and audience participation is highly encouraged. An ongoing program , Youth Services is always accepting new members to “What Just Happened?” Improv. YST and Living Arts of Tulsa invite middle and high School students to come up with the next great art project! The sessions are free and open to any student who would like to participate in a significant and relevant art making experience that deals with their own ideas. Students will meet for a fun brainstorming session, share ideas and create the content for their arts experience. A studio where the sky is the limit, ArtCore is interactive, interdisciplinary and completely original. Participants will be honored with a final presentation of their artwork in Living ArtSpace, a professional gallery, on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. What else could you want?
