Adolescent Emergency Shelter


The shelter is for:
  • Youth ages 12-17 (exceptions made for 18 year olds who are enrolled in high school)
  • Youth from the Safe Place program and other Youth Services programs
  • Youth from schools, other agencies, their parents, or law enforcement.
  • Youth also come to the shelter on their own.
The shelter is a safe place for youth who find themselves homeless or in danger
  • 24-hour staff
  • Open seven days a week
  • Open 365 days a year
  • A safe place to stay
  • Meals
  • Clothing (if needed)
  • Access to school or on-site individualized educational programs
  • The shelter is equipped to house up to 20 youth and includes facilities for teenage parents, if they come with their infants. 
The shelter is also:
  • A place for group education and prevention activities, supervised recreation and leisure activities, individual and family counseling (from master's-level educated, professional counseling staff) and access to other needed services.
  • There is no charge for Youth Services shelter services.
